More thoughts on NT
MEET CASEY JONES
1. Raph will always sound too old to me in NT.
2. This is one reason I find it hard to believe that the others are super-protective of Mike--he's a GOOD fighter.
3. Pattern: when faced with real, sudden danger, Mike freezes.
4. This moment in the comics probably had more meaning, because Mike and Raph were so close in Mirage, but it's still nice.
5. Raph almost killed him, and Mike's first concern is Raph himself. Beautiful.
6. Ah, Raph Angst! We don't get this a lot after the first season.
7. Casey is so much cooler in the first season than he is later on.
8. The guy who tells her to hand over her purse is Splinter's voice.
9. I love how Casey's so worked up, he doesn't even react to Raph's appearance.
10. GAH this violence could never be done in OT. All we get is Casey's shadow, but it's so effective.
11. Mike's already over the Raph thing. He's like a hobbit--easy to scare, hard to traumatize.
12. Ah, lovely foreshadowing of the Notes from the Underground ep. I love it when creators plan ahead.
13. How the heck can Casey give Raph such a beating and then be so easily outclassed by April later on? No, I know what it is. They wanted to make April look good. I get it.
14. Cheeky Leo, heh. "I think he's trying to tell you something, Donnie."
15. Leo is so tight on safety.
16. Things go back to normal between Mike and Raph so quickly. It's fantastic.
17. Splinter is so cool. "Take the truck."
18. I think a lot of fic writers tend to forget the garage as an extension of the lair. I know I do.
19. This is what makes me think of Don as an indulgent big brother--see how he just randomly makes Raph a motorcycle?
20. Hun sans Foot tattoo in the flashback. How old IS he?
21. Casey's "savin' this face for Hollywood." HAH! No way he could think of something like that in later seasons, when he was dumbed down.

2. April is immediately a mother hen to Casey, though they are pretty immediately attracted to each other. It's cute!
3. WOW Nano's scream is chilling.
4. The little theme played at Nano's death is played on one of those little toy pianos kids use.
