I think it's terribly convenient that villains happen to have a drug that will do EXACTLY what they need.
Famous examples:
The Mind Control Drug leaves the victim complacent and willing to do anything the villain orders.
The Rape Drug leaves the victim too weak to move but mentally sharp and with a heightened sense of touch.
The Sleep Drug causes the victim to sleep no matter how much they try to stay awake and leaves them with no hangover afterwards.
Also, for the record, HYPNOSIS IS NOT MIND CONTROL.
